LONDON: Renowned Pakistani actress Sophia Mirza has strongly refuted allegations made against her by Umar Farooq Zahoor, asserting that the accusations are baseless and false. Mirza has expressed her determination to challenge these allegations through legal means, emphasizing her intention to return to Pakistan to face the claims against her.
Sophia Mirza, currently residing in the UK, recently participated in a Pakistan Independence Day event in Henslow. The event was attended by fellow Pakistani actors Azfar Rehman, Yoshama Gul, Farhana Maqsood, and Imaan Fatima. On the occasion, Mirza addressed the allegations raised against her, stressing her intention to confront the situation in Pakistan.
Refuting the notion that she fled Pakistan out of fear, Sophia Mirza affirmed her resolve to return to the country soon to address the allegations head-on. She stated, “I will face whatever is true and false against me,” while emphasizing that those responsible for spreading false information will face consequences. She clarified that her actions are not related to any political agenda and that her focus is on seeking justice.

Sophia Mirza also clarified her stance on certain individuals, stating that she has had no contact with Shahzad Akbar and is not aligned with any political party. She expressed her preference for factual journalism over sensationalism and stressed that her fight was for her children’s future.
Mirza highlighted her pride in representing Pakistan while residing in the UK. Her determination to return and address the allegations reflects her commitment to defending her reputation and rights.
Earlier this year in July, the Lahore Police dismissed two cases filed by Sophia Mirza against her former husband and Dubai-based businessman Umar Farooq Zahoor. These cases, filed nearly 15 years ago during a custody battle for their twin daughters, alleged conspiracy and kidnapping. Mirza had registered the first case in 2009, accusing Zahoor and Malik Shahid of conspiring to abduct their minor daughters from PC Hotel Karachi.
