ISLAMABAD: Solid evidences showed that the weapons left over by foreign forces in Afghanistan are being used by terrorists in terrorist activities against Pakistan, which has witnessed a drastic increase in the recent days. The Armed Forces of Pakistan have been fighting war against terrorism for the last two decades. Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist attacks orchestrated from Afghan soil, wherein, terrorists from Afghanistan attempt to infiltrate through Pakistan-Afghanistan Border and target security forces and the innocent civilians, sources said. According to media reports, foreign made weapons are easily available for terrorists in Afghanistan. It is evident that terrorists are blatantly using the arms left behind by foreign forces in Afghanistan to damage regional peace.
Reports said that on night 18/19 August 2024, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in (IBO) Mastung, Balochistan. During the operation, after an intense fire exchange, three terrorists of BLA were sent to hell while three of them got wounded. These terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities in the province and were also responsible for shahadat of Deputy Commissioner of Panjgur Zakir Ali, on 12 August 2024. A huge quantity of foreign made weapons including AK, RGP Launcher, RPD LMG and 8MM have been recovered from the procession of these killed terrorists
On 14 May, 2024, three terrorists were killed by the security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Zhob Balochistan. A huge quantity of foreign made weapons including Type-69 RPG, PKM Machine Gun, M-16/A4 MD 90 assault rifle, AKM assault rifle, PG-7V RPG rockets, M-46 hand grenades, F-1 hand grenades have been recovered from the procession of terrorists.
On 29 April 2024, security forces conducted an IBO in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Four terrorists were sent to hell including Terrorist Ringleader Qari Wajid @Qari Baryal and Terrorist Ringleader Razziq during the operation. Foreign made arms including M4/A1, AK-47 and huge quantity of explosive materials have been recovered from the terrorists.
On 24-25 April 2024, security forces conducted an IBO operation in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on reported presence of terrorists. During the conduct of operation, three terrorists were sent to hell including Terrorist ringleader Sohail @Azmato and Terrorist ringleader Haji Gul @Zarkavi. Weapons and ammunition including M16/A4, AK-47 were o recovered from the killed terrorists.
Similarly on night 22/23 April 24, security forces carried out an IBO in Pishin, Balochistan on reported presence of terrorists. During the operation, three terrorists were sent to hell, while one terrorist was arrested in injured condition, who has been identified as an Afghan citizen. A huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives including M16/A4, AK-47 was also recovered from the terrorists.
On night 6/7 April 24, fire exchange took place between the security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two terrorists were sent to hell during the operation. Weapons and explosives including M16/A4، AK47 were also recovered from them.
BLA terrorists attempted cowardly attack at the Gwadar Port Authority complex on March 20, 2024. During the attack on the Gwadar Port Authority, BLA terrorists used foreign made weapons, which were recovered by the security forces in retaliatory action. The security forces recovered foreign made M-16/A4, AK-47, grenade launchers, and hand grenades from the terrorists.
On January 29, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan. During the operation, terrorist Naikman Ullah was killed. The security forces recovered foreign made M-4 Carbine from the terrorist.
Sources said that seven terrorists were sent to hell by security forces in Sambaza, Zhob district on January 22. Foreign made weapons including M-16/A2, AK-47, sleeping bags, hand grenades, and other weapons were recovered from terrorists, the sources maintained.
On January 19, two terrorists were killed by the security forces when Afghan terrorists were attempting to cross Pak-Afghan border at the Bachisar check post in Miran Shah. M16/A4, AK-47, and other foreign made weapons were recovered from terrorists.
Foreign made weapons including M4 Carbine were also recovered from terrorists on December 31. The terrorists were killed by the security forces when they attempting to cross Pak-Afghan border at Bajaur.
Earlier, on December 29, the security forces had recovered foreign made weapons, including M-4 Carbine, AK-47, and huge quantity of ammunition during Mir Ali operation. During the exchange of fire, five terrorists, including terrorist commander Rahzaib Khuray were killed in the operation.
Earlier, several times foreign made weapons were used in terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The BLA also used these weapons in attacks on FC camps in Panjgur and Naushki districts in February 2022. Similarly, on July 12, 2023, foreign made weapons were used by Fitna al Khawarij in an attack on the Zhob garrison.
According to sources, on September 6, 2023, Fitna al Khawarij terrorists used the latest foreign made weapons and attacked two military check posts in Chitral. Similarly, sources disclosed that foreign made weapons included RPG-7, AK-74, M-4, and M-16/A4 were recovered from terrorists involved in the Minawali Airbase attack.
Furthermore, foreign made rifles were used by terrorists in the terrorist attack in Daraban, Dera Ismail Khan on December 12.
