Soldier Martyred, Six Injured in IED Explosion in Peshawar

RAWALPINDI: One Pakistani soldier was martyred and three others sustained injuries when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded on a vehicle of Security Forces in the Warsak area of Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province here on Monday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to ISPR, on September 11, an IED exploded on the Security Forces’ vehicle in the Warsak area of Peshawar. Lance Naik Abdur Rehman, a resident of Bannu district, embraced martyrdom, while three soldiers sustained injuries in the explosion, ISPR added. ISPR further added that the cowardly act of terrorism also resulted in the injury of three innocent civilians.

Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate the terrorists and their facilitators.

ISPR maintained that the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism. ISPR added that such sacrifices of Pakistan’s brave soldiers as well as valiant civilian brethren, further strengthen the Pakistan Army’s resolve to eliminate terrorism.
