ISLAMABAD: Sohni Dharti, a socio-cultural organization of Pakistani expatriates residing in Al Khor, Qatar, recently organized a vibrant event to celebrate Pakistan Day. The event began with the presentation of the national anthems of Qatar and Pakistan, followed by various competitions and performances.
The event witnessed the participation of students in different events, including patriotic songs, poem recitation, speech delivery, and tableaux highlighting the importance of Pakistan National Day. Children of various age groups showcased their language and presentation skills in the patriotic songs context and speech contests.
Patriotic songs competition at Pakistan Day event
The winners of the contests were announced at the end of the event. The Patriotic Songs winners (5-8 years) were Abdul Ahad (1st), Areesha Arif (2nd), and Faizan Mustafa (3rd). The Patriotic Songs winners (9-14 years) were Ayesha Inam (1st), Ayesha Arif (2nd), and Huria Sarwar and Amna Salman (3rd). In the Speech Contest, Ayesha Binte Zafar (1st), Muhammad Ahmed Bhatti (2nd), and Sara Binte Zafar (3rd) were declared the winners.
Community Welfare Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy Chaudhary Mohammad Ajmal, Waheedullah Wazir, Rana Anwar Ali, Haroon Qureishi, Liaqat Nawaz, and Sarfaraz Ali of Sundar Trading Company congratulated the winners and expressed their happiness on the children’s performances. They also praised the Sohni Dharti EXCOM for organizing a successful event.
Chairman Sohni Dharti, Shahid Mehmood Bhatti, thanked the contestants, their parents, the audience, and distinguished guests for their participation in the event. Bhatti presented mementos to the guests and specially designed shields to the Sohni Dharti EXCOM to show his appreciation for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
The event was live-streamed and broadcasted on various social media platforms, attracting a large audience worldwide. The event provided an opportunity for Pakistani expatriates in Qatar to come together and celebrate their culture and heritage.
