CALIFORNIA: Apple released an update to its iOS 17 software, aiming to address overheating issues related to its latest iPhones.

The iPhone 15 series, encased in a titanium shell, was launched last month with its custom A17 pro chip powering the Pro and Pro Max phones. The hardware on the Pro line makes the devices suitable for high-end mobile gaming.

Shortly after the iPhone 15 models were launched, users complained about bad battery life and overheating.

The most recent iOS 17 update has been released, encompassing “essential bug fixes, security enhancements, and resolution for a problem causing the iPhone to run warmer than anticipated,” as stated by an Apple representative.

Earlier this week, Apple acknowledged reports of elevated device temperatures, attributing it to heightened background activity during the initial setup or restoration process.

Furthermore, Apple clarified that recent updates to certain third-party applications, such as Meta’s Instagram and Uber, were identified as culprits overloading the system. The company assured users that the Pro models, characterized by their design rather than the titanium shells, are not prone to overheating and, in fact, exhibit improved heat dissipation.
