SAN FRANCISCO: Elon Musk, chief of X (formerly Twitter) has said that display of links appeared with news articles on the social media platform would be changed making it difficult for news companies to attract audiences, reported western media on Tuesday.
Social media X to hide titles from news articles’ links
He said X is planning to remove the headline and text while retaining just the main image from links to news articles shared on the platform.
It is believed that Musk wants users to spend more time on his social media network pushing them to opt for subscription fees through the recent move.
If you’re a journalist who wants more freedom to write and a higher income, then publish directly on this platform!

It is not clear how the recent move will affect advertisers on the social media platform that according to Musk had 540 million monthly users in July.
News links appear on the timeline of users as cards along with an image at X which helps publishers to attract readers.
When Musk bought the company, he introduced a $8 blue subscription fee so that the users can access special features on X.
Later he halted the program for a short period after problems were faced by the people buying tick marks including celebrities and businessmen.
