Social Media Platforms Face Widespread Disruption Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Internet monitoring service Netblocks has reported a major disruption in social media platforms across Pakistan, affecting major services like X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube, affecting millions of users in Pakistan.

Users in major cities such as Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Islamabad encountered difficulties accessing these platforms around 9 pm. The disruption has also led to complaints about sluggish internet services.

The cause of the disruption has not been officially stated, and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is yet to release an official statement regarding the issue. Netblocks described the incident as a “nation-scale disruption,” emphasizing its widespread impact.

The outage is causing inconvenience for users in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and other cities.
