BEIJING: Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, said on Wednesday that at this critical juncture where tradition and modernity intersect, it is necessary to acknowledge that our partnership in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is not just about medical techniques; it is also about people-to-people contacts, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding.
Addressing the 6th Belt and Road Forum for TCM in Beijing, he emphasized on the close cooperation between Pakistan and China in different fields, including TCM.
On the occasion, the Head of the State Administration of TCM, Yu Yanhong, said that over the past decade, we have promoted the inclusion of TCM in a number of bilateral deals, intergovernmental cooperation mechanisms, and summit outcomes. We have also established thirty overseas TCM centers in states along the Belt and Road and set up thirty-one national TCM service export bases.
Development in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acknowledged
Participants of the event acknowledged the development TCM has achieved over the last ten years. They agreed that the cooperation between China and the BRI nations in this field reflects the mutual commitment to promoting holistic healthcare and the well-being of the people.
World Health Organization (WHO) Representative to China Martin Taylor said that the world could learn and use TCM and learn how China integrated TCM into the health system as a breakthrough.
