RAWALPINDI: Six terrorists were killed and four others were injured as Pakistan’s security forces foiled an attack on a security post in Kalat district of southwestern Balochistan province, the military media wing stated on Saturday.
According to ISPR, on the night of November 15/16, terrorists attempted to attack a security forces’ post in the Shah-e-Mardan area of Kalat district.
“Own troops fought gallantly as a result of which six terrorists were sent to hell, while four terrorists were injured,” ISPR stated.
However, during the exchange of fire, seven soldiers of Pakistan’s security forces embraced martyrdom. “During intense exchange of fire, seven brave sons of the soil, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat,” ISPR stated.
Security forces carried out sanitization operation to eliminate any terrorist found in the area.
“Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” ISPR resolved.
The latest attack on Pakistani security forces follows a deadly suicide bombing last week at the crowded Quetta railway station, which killed over two dozen people, including army personnel and wounded more than 50 others.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on unarmed civilians in the Kalat district.
In a statement today, the Prime Minister instructed immediate action against the culprits involved and to ensure they receive exemplary punishment.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said the elements spreading chaos and unrest in Balochistan are enemies of the people and the development of the province. He, however, said such nefarious tactics cannot shake the government’s resolve for the development and prosperity of Balochistan.
The Prime Minister expressed the nation’s resolve to foil the nefarious designs of the country’s enemies. He reiterated that the war against terrorism would continue till the complete eradication of this menace from the country.
