Six Passengers Killed as Van Plunges into Ravine in Mansehra

PESHAWAR: At least six passengers were killed, and five others sustained injuries when a van in which they were traveling plunged into a ravine in Mansehra district of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Saturday.

According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, the accident took place in the Mansehra district of the province.

Police authorities said that the passenger van was en route to Mansehra from Abbottabad when it met with an accident near the Hathian Mera area on CP Road. As a result of the accident, six passengers, including two women, were killed, while five others sustained injuries.

According to the police source, the tire of the ill-fated van burst causing the incident.

Rescuers and emergency teams reached the site and transferred the dead bodies and injured passengers to King Abdullah Hospital. The injured passengers are currently receiving medical treatment.
