ANKARA: A 6.4-magnitude quake has rocked Turkey’s Southern province of Hatay and northern part of Syria, killing at least six people and sparking new panic following a massive tremor that left more than 45,000 dead in the region.
Fresh quake kills six in Turkey
The quake struck the Turkish area of Defne on Monday at 1704 GMT and was strongly felt by people nearby city of Antakya. The quake was also felt in Cyprus and Lebanon.

Over 300 people were wounded in Turkey and at least 150 were injured in Syria. The overall death toll from the quakes is now over 42,310 in Turkey and over 3,688 in Syria, officials said.
Turkey’s disaster management authority said on its social media that a 5.8-magnitude earthquake after three minutes later, with its epicenter in the Samandag, Hatay.
