QUETTA: At least six family members, including children, died in a gas leakage blast within the jurisdiction of Satellite Town Police Station of Quetta, local police said on Sunday.
Police officials said the blast occurred when the ill-fated family switched on a heater amid the chilling cold. As a result, a man, his wife, and their four children died in the explosion.

Soon after the incident, the dead bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for medico-legal formalities. Later, after necessary action, the dead bodies were handed over to the heirs for the last rituals.
It may be recalled that most parts of Balochistan are experiencing a severe cold, with the mercury dropping from -10 °C to -15 °C in many areas, including Quetta.
