Sindh to Launch Dedicated Bus Service for Women In Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced the launch of the Pink Peoples Bus Service exclusively for women in Karachi.

In a Twitter message, Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh Information and Transport minister, announced that from February 1st, the Pink Bus Service for women would begin its services. “Inshallah, Pink buses will be functional from February 1st in Karachi,” he tweeted.

Bus service to ply between Malir, Tower

The transport minister announced the pink bus service would run from Model Colony Malir to Tower via Shahrah-e-Faisal, adding that buses would operate during working hours from morning to evening after every 20 minutes.

Earlier, Sindh Transport Minister announced a pink taxi service for females in Karachi. “Under Sindh Mass Transit Authority, the government has decided to launch tax services in Karachi,” he said.

He added that pink tax service for women would be launched in the first phase. Memon further said that women would drive pink taxis while cameras would be installed inside cars.
