KARACHI: Sindh Education Department has stopped the salaries of thousands of employees while taking big action against ghost teachers in the province.
The Education Department has written a letter to the Accountant General Sindh to stop the salaries of the ghost teachers. He has been asked to stop the salaries of 2019 employees of Sindh immediately.
Sindh Education Secretary Akbar Laghari has said that the employees who are getting paid at home will be dismissed from their jobs. Akbar Laghari said there are 144 ghost teachers in Karachi, 132 in Hyderabad and 114 in Mirpur Khas.
According to Sindh Education Secretary, there are 464 ghost teachers in Qambar Shahdadkot, 190 in Jacobabad, 102 in Dadu, 182 in Benazirabad, 128 in Shikarpur, 89 in Nowshahrofiroz, 155 in Larkana and 28 in Sanghar.
