TAXILA: Sikhs from across the country and abroad gathered at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore, for Jor Mela, a three-day festival commemorating the 418th death anniversary of the fifth Sikh guru, Guru Arjan Dev.
Sikh pilgrims from India arrived in Pakistan through the Wagha Border to participate in the Jor Mela at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore, starting on June 16.
The Sikh pilgrims will stay at Gurdwara Dera Sahib for two days. The main event of Jor Mela, organized by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), will take place at Gurdwara Dera Sahib.
Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, along with Sikh pilgrims, board officers, and political, religious, and minority leaders from around the world, will attend the event.
In Sikhism, the event is also known as Shaheedi Jor Mela or Shaheedi Purab of Guru Arjan Dev.
The Sikh temple welcomes hundreds of thousands of worshippers from around the world on such religious occasions.
