ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan fast-bowling great Shoaib Akhtar has arrived in Dhaka to take up a mentorship role with the Dhaka Capitals for the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the franchise said.
Akhtar was warmly received by the franchise management upon his arrival, a move hailed by the team as a significant addition to their campaign.
The fast-bowling icon is expected to bring his vast experience, formidable leadership, and a championship-winning mentality to the Capitals’ dressing room as they fine-tune their preparations.
The BPL 2024 is scheduled to commence on December 26. The Dhaka Capitals will begin their campaign on the following day, December 27, with a clash against the Rajshahi Warriors at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The inclusion of Shoaib Akhtar as a mentor is viewed as a strategic boost for the Capitals, providing invaluable guidance to both seasoned players and emerging talents as the franchise sets its sights on lifting the coveted trophy this season.
