Raja Inayat Ur Rehman, PPP Rawalpindi chapter President, had filed a case against the AML chief in Aabpara Police Station of Islamabad. Three sections — 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief), and 120B (criminal conspiracy) — are included in the FIR against Sheikh Rashid.
The Islamabad Police presented Sheikh Rashid in the court of Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir upon completing his two-day physical remand.
During hearing of the case, the police sought a five-day extension in Sheikh Rashid’s physical remand.
The police investigation officer informed the court that voice-matching tests had been performed, and the photogrammetry test was left.
Meanwhile, Rashid maintained: “It would be better if I will be sentenced to death the way police have kept me.”

Sheikh Rashid complains about police treatment in custody
Rashid complained that the police tied to a chair for hours and kept him blindfolded.
Sheikh Rashid pleaded to the court to order the concerned authorities to take him to a local hospital to bandage his injuries and grant him the security of Rangers.
At this, the court ordered the police to uncuff Rashid.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Rashid’s lawyer started his arguments and said that the sections imposed in the case against Sheikh Rashid were not valid.
He argued that Sheikh Rashid was sent into police custody for two days for a probe but was “tortured at night.”
Later, the sessions court reserved its verdict on the plea of the please for an extension in Sheikh Rashid’s physical remand. It also gave the transcript of Sheikh Rashid’s interview to his lawyer.
