LONDON: Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that there was ‘no change’ in the return plan of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and reaffirmed that PML-N Supreme Leader would land in Pakistan on October 21, a private media outlet reported on Friday.

Shehbaz Sharif left London earlier in the week after spending several weeks here, however soon after reaching Lahore, made a sudden plan to rush back to London to meet with his elder brother Nawaz Sharif. The sudden return of Shehbaz Sharif incited rumours in the media regarding a possible delay in the scheduled return of Nawaz Sharif.

According to media reports during his second visits, the bigwigs from the PML-N including Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, Mian Javed Latif, Talal Chaudhry, and others held crucial meetings with Nawaz Sharif and discussed his return and political scenario in Pakistan after the announcement of the election.

Meanwhile, talking to the media Shehbaz Sharif said, “No change was made in return plan of PML-N supremo,”, adding that his brother was removed from power through a conspiracy, followed by rigging in the 2018 general elections that left the country far behind other competitors in the region.

Shehbaz Sharif further said the return of Nawaz Sharif would follow a consultation by the leadership to launch a proper campaign for the election under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. He said that Nawaz Sharif after coming to Pakistan would face the law.

Earlier Nawaz Sharif said that it was unfortunate that Saqib Nisar, and Azmat Saeed conspired against 22-crore people in 2017 while toppling him, creating political instability in the country.

He further said that Pakistan would not be able to move forward until those involved in the conspiracy were brought to justice.

While talking to the media, PML-N leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar said that article 62 (1) (f) which reduced the disqualification sentence to five years was passed by the parliament and also approved by the president adding that after the approval of article 62 (1) (f) Nawaz Sharif and Jahangir Tareen were now eligible to contest the elections.
