LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that his party played a crucial role in preventing the country from economic default.

The former prime minister said that Pakistan was making strides in development, overcoming electricity load shedding, and experiencing growth in the agriculture sector. However, he contended that the country faced a crisis when the PML-N government was ousted from power.

The former prime minister said that his party wants free, fair, and transparent elections to ensure the prosperity of the country.

Shehbaz Sharif on IMF Deal

Addressing the IMF agreement, Shehbaz Sharif claimed that the deal was signed by the then PTI government, leading Pakistan to the brink of economic default for political gains.

It is noteworthy that the PML-N unveiled its election manifesto on January 27, with party leader Nawaz Sharif presenting it at a party event in Lahore.

Emphasizing its implementation if voted into power, Nawaz Sharif urged the public to carefully review the manifesto, which was crafted with an emphasis on realistic and achievable commitments.

The delayed announcement was attributed to the party’s focus on comprehensive reforms, involving the formation of 32 committees to draft the manifesto and assess the party’s past performance.
