Shehbaz, Iranian President Say Israel’s Aggression ‘Can No Longer Be Tolerated’

Leaders meet in Doha on sidelines of Arab–Islamic summit, pledge solidarity with Qatar and unity of Muslim world.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have declared that Israel’s recent strikes on Qatar “can no longer be tolerated,” urging Muslim countries to present a united front against what they described as unprovoked aggression.

In a statement, Prime Minister Sharif office said the two leaders met in Doha on Monday on the sidelines of the emergency Arab–Islamic summit convened after Israel bombed the Qatari capital on September 9. Both leaders expressed their solidarity and support for Qatar and called for unity among the ranks of the Ummah in the face of Israeli aggression.

“The Prime Minister stated that the Doha Arab-Islamic Summit had sent a strong and unified message on behalf of the Muslim world that Israel’s aggression could no longer be tolerated,” said the statemen.

The meeting was also attended by Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister Ishaq Dar, army chief Asim Munir, defence minister Khawaja Asif and information minister Attaullah Tarar.

Sharif said the summit had sent a “strong and unified message” from the Muslim world, rejecting Israel’s attacks and voicing solidarity with Qatar. He reiterated Pakistan’s “strongest condemnation” of the strikes and stressed the need for collective action.

The Pakistani leader also reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthen ties with Tehran, recalling President Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Pakistan. He conveyed his “warm regards” to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

For his part, Pezeshkian welcomed Pakistan’s stance on Palestine and said Iran remained committed to expanding cooperation with Islamabad in the face of regional challenges. Both leaders agreed to stay in close contact as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise.
