ISLAMABAD: Australia’s national science agency scientists have discovered a shark graveyard on the Indian Ocean’s floor.

According to a statement from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization on Wednesday revealed a few findings of science sleuths who undertook biodiversity surveys on two of Australia’s marine parks.

The research was conducted on board the research vessel named Investigator.
More than 750 fish teeth were discovered in a trawl at 5,400 meters under the sea in the Cocos Islands Marine Park, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

Prehistoric shark’s teeth fossils
The finds included that of a prehistoric ancestor of the megalodon, which used to roam the oceans till 3.5 million years ago. Fossils belonging to modern sharks included those of mako and white shark along with several other species. – Xinhua/APP
