NEW YORK, USA: Maria Sharapova, a tennis icon with five Grand Slam titles, and record-breaking doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan have been selected for the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
Known for her prowess and unique brand, Sharapova achieved a career Grand Slam, won Olympic silver, and became the first Russian woman to reach No. 1. Her career was also marked by high-profile endorsements and a 15-month suspension for a doping incident, which was later reduced on appeal.
The Bryan brothers, identical twins who spent over 400 weeks ranked No. 1 in ATP doubles, amassed 16 major titles together. They dominated men’s doubles with a powerful partnership, capturing a career Grand Slam, an Olympic gold medal in 2012, and aiding the U.S. to victory in the 2007 Davis Cup. Mike, who secured an additional two doubles Grand Slams with Jack Sock, expressed gratitude for the induction, highlighting the influence of their parents’ support.
The Bryans and Sharapova will be officially inducted in a ceremony in Newport, Rhode Island, in August 2025. Their achievements underscore the lasting impact they’ve made in tennis history, celebrated among some of the sport’s all-time greats.
