MELBOURNE: After taking a knock to the side of his head during a training session in Melbourne, Pakistani batter Shan Masood was transported to the hospital.
Masood wasn’t batting at the moment, so he wasn’t wearing a helmet when a loose ball hit him off the bat from Mohammad Nawaz. Before their first group match against India on Sunday, Pakistan was practicing at the MCG when the incident happened.
The team physio and other players gathered around Masood as he fell to the ground. According to ESPNcricinfo, Masood was conscious after the incident and reported no indications of a concussion, so there were no immediate causes for fear. He has been taken to the hospital for scans.
