MUMBAI: Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami has finally reacted over rumors about himself and tennis star Sania Mirza’s marriage, urging social media users to exercise responsibility and refrain from spreading fake news.

Addressing the issue in a recent YouTube interaction, Shami expressed frustration over the propagation of fake news surrounding an alleged marriage between him and Sania Mirza. He condemned the circulation of fabricated images and baseless assertions.

‘It is weird and done purposely for some lame fun. But what can be done? If I open my phone, I could see those memes. But I would like to say that memes are made for fun, but if they are related to someone’s life, then you must think about it before sharing. These people share content from unverified pages.’ Mohammad Shami remarked, highlighting the prevalence of unverified information shared on social media platforms. He called upon those responsible for spreading such content to consider its implications before sharing.

The cricketer challenged the authenticity of those behind the rumors, calling for claims to be substantiated from verified sources. He said, ‘If you have the guts to say all these things from a verified page, then I will reply. Try achieving success, help people, and upgrade yourself, then I will believe that you are a good person.”

His strong stance marks an end to the unwarranted rumors, emphasizing his intolerance for baseless speculation surrounding his personal life.
