ISLAMABAD: Students from Pakistan, like other countries, will participate in the “Seventh Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp and Teacher Workshop” being held by the Children and Youth Science Center of the China Association for Science and Technology in the cities of Ningxia and Chongqing of China in November.
The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, People’s Republic of China, and supported by ECO Science Foundation Pakistan, InterAcademy Partnership Science Education Program, and Network of African Science Academies.
Participating Teams in Workshop
According to an official of ECOSF, two teams (one team for one city) are being selected by ECOSF from Pakistan, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Uzbekistan to attend the camp and the workshop in Chongqing and Urumqi cities.
Each participating team will comprise up to 5 junior high school science students (aged thirteen to fifteen) and up to two teachers.
The event will be held from November 5 to 11 in two different cities i.e., Chongqing and Urumqi.
The event is aimed at promoting international understanding, strengthening cross-cultural exchange, inspiring innovation in the young generation, and also for all scientists and science teachers to enhance mutual learning and fulfill their responsibilities in science education career, the official said.
The workshop would allow students to cooperate with the best of their age at the global level, to share ideas, and to study cutting-edge knowledge in science laboratories of top schools in China through hands-on experience and teamwork under the experienced teachers’ guidance.
The host organizations in China will provide hospitality which includes local transportation, hotel accommodation, meals, and airport pick and drop, whereas, the cost of air travel of the participating team has to be borne by themselves.
