OSLO, NORWAY: Seven South Sudanese delegates attending a peace conference were killed in two of the organization’s cars, according to a Norwegian humanitarian organization, but three of its staff escaped without harm.
Dagfinn Hoybraten, the head of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), issued a statement strongly condemning the attack on civilians and aid workers.
How complicated to work in Norway?
He said the attack showed how complicated it is to work in a country where security is always changing.
After attending a peace conference and being offered a lift in NCA cars, the seven were killed on Saturday in Imehejek, Eastern Equatoria state.
The humanitarian organization supplied no other information, stating that the attack was still under investigation. The three NCA workers were also from South Sudan, according to NCA.
