KATHMANDU, Nepal: A tragic incident occurred as a passenger bus collided with a truck on Friday night in the Banke district of western Nepal, resulting in the loss of seven lives and leaving 27 others injured, local police confirmed Saturday.
A bus carrying 41 passengers and returning from a trip to the neighboring Dang district collided with a parked truck on the East-West Highway, according to Sundar Tiwari, a police officer from Banke.
Tiwari indicated that the bus’s fast speed caused the accident. As a result of this tragic incident, all the injured people, including two in critical condition, are currently undergoing medical treatment at a local hospital. —Xinhua/APP
