Rawalpindi: A local court on Monday 10-10-2022, in Rawalpindi, rejected the Anti-corruption Establishment’s (ACE) request for contempt of court proceedings against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for failing to show up for a corruption investigation.

A hearing for a corruption case against the interior minister was taking place when ACE made the request. The prosecutor for ACE pleaded with the judge that “Contempt of court procedures should begin against Rana Sanaullah because he is neither appearing before the court nor surrendering himself to ACE.” Court rejected the ACE’s plea and ordered the ACE team to keep working to arrest and bring the interior minister before the court.

Rana Sanaullah, the interior minister, was the subject of a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a judge on Saturday due to his failure to appear in a corruption investigation. Sanaullah has been found guilty in the corruption case.

According to Musaddiq Abbasi, the chief minister of Punjab’s anti-corruption advisor, Sanaullah was summoned, but he failed to show up, thus the adviser claims that his team has the “right to arrest the criminal in any position.” No matter who commits a crime, it should be taken into account, the advisor emphasized.
