ISLAMABAD: Serena Hotels hosted the Sarfaranga Rally Conference here in Islamabad, under its Sports Diplomacy initiative to play its role in the promotion of sports and tourism in the country particularly in the picturesque region of Gilgit Baltistan.
The event was graced by participants from different walks of life, including media, sports etc from diverse backgrounds and regions of Pakistan while creating an atmosphere of camaraderie, encouraging cultural exchange and friendship.
Serena Hotels has a long-standing history of sponsoring Sarfaranga and other such events round the year in all parts of Pakistan to provide opportunities and a platform to the current and new talent and to promote tourism as a means to create sustainable livelihood.
Speaking on the occasion Secretary of Tourism Gilgit Baltistan Asifullah Khan remarked that he was determined to make Gilgit Baltistan an all-season tourist destination adding that the event would bring employment opportunities for the local masses and would also help to show the world the real potential of the region. He further said that the event would be held from 6 October till 8 October adding that the total length of the rally track would be 80 km. This would be the fifth edition having a new theme called Go-Green.
