Serena Hotels Conduct Panel Talk on Mental Health

ISLAMABAD: In a dedicated effort to address the often-overlooked issue of mental health, Serena Hotels’ Raabta initiative conducted a panel discussion under the theme “Caring for Our Mental Well-being: Conversations for a Healthier Tomorrow.”

Recognizing the urgent need for awareness and access to professionally trained assistance, the event aimed to remove the stigma surrounding mental health concerns.

Against the backdrop of the pandemic’s profound impact on mental well-being, the event spotlighted the surge in mental stress-related challenges across age groups. The rise in cases of domestic abuse, suicides, and other mental health complexities underscored the urgency to tackle these concerns head-on.

Guided by the curator of Raabta, Ms. Sidra Iqbal, a vocal advocate for gender inclusion and diversity, the event featured a diverse array of panelists, each carrying distinct expertise. The panel consisted of Mr. Kamran Rizvi, recognized for his motivational prowess and capacity-building acumen; Ms. Rukhsar Khurshid, a seasoned professional specializing in relationship management and counseling; Dr. Nausheen Kazmi, a distinguished mental health expert affiliated with Shifa International Hospital; and Ms. Sabahat Bokhari, the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Jazz.

Drawing participants from diplomatic circles, government echelons, corporate sectors, and academia, the event facilitated a dynamic discourse. The panelists and attendees delved deep into the urgent necessity for heightened mental health awareness and the establishment of accessible support networks guided by certified experts.

The event extended to a vibrant Q&A session, allowing a diverse audience to directly interact with the panel of experts. To ensure inclusivity, the live broadcast enabled remote participants to seamlessly engage in the enlightening conversation.
