MULTAN: The Housing and Urban Development Department South Punjab has directed all the concerned departments to construct separate washrooms for women at all public places and also report any missing facility.
The Parks and Horticulture Authority has launched a survey to ascertain the missing facilities in all eighty parks under it.
“The Authority has constructed fifteen new parks this year where it built separate washrooms for ladies. The facility was missing in about 25 to 30 large parks and a number of small parks also”, PHA spokesperson Jalaluddin told APP.
He said that the authority was preparing a report in this regard on the directives of the Housing and Urban Development and would submit it soon.
Authority works to increase self-income
He further said that the authority has launched several developmental projects at various parks and it was also seeking to increase self-income. Recently, it auctioned various parking stands and canteens, which would generate revenue of Rs 10 million every year. –APP
