ISLAMABAD: The senate passed a resolution on Monday, stressing the need for building international-level hotels within the complex of stadiums in all big cities to avoid road blockages during the events.

Senators Kauda Babar and Naseebullah Baai moved the resolution underscoring the problems faced by patients, commuters, and office-goers in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Karachi, and Lahore due to road blockages for the security of the visiting cricket teams.

Utility of hotels

The resolution said that the hotels will be useful for international cricket as well as for Pakistan Super League (PSL) and other domestic matches. They will also save millions of rupees on account of the security and movement of players and officials.

It added that the measure would also help improve the security of visiting players and prove beneficial for the promotion of sports in the country in the long run.
