BRUSSELS: A seminar on Human Rights Violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir has been organized in Brussels to observe Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir and express solidarity with the people of the disputed area.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry in a statement said the embassy in Belgium’s capital held the seminar on the eve of Youm-e-Istehsal (Day of Exploitation).
The seminar held in hybrid format was objected to highlight the Human Rights violations by the Indian government in the IIOJ&K, especially after August 5, 2019.
On August 5, 2019, India unlawfully revoked Articles 370 and 35A, stripping occupied Jammu Kashmir of its special status.
The statement said Former Member of the European Parliament Mr Phil Bennion, Chairman Kashmir Institute of International Relations Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani, Former President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry Dr. Mubeen Shah and Chairman EU Kashmir Council Mr. Ali Raza Syed during the seminar expressed concern on the rising gross human rights violations by the Indian forces in the occupied territory.
Indian atrocities in IIOJK condemned
The speakers highlighting the grave human rights situation in the IIOJ&K, the demanded India to stop atrocities against innocent Kashmiris who were suffering under its illegal occupation for over the past seven decades.
They termed the acts of the Indian government since 05 August 2019, illegal and in violation of international law, and demanded their absolute revocation.
In her remarks, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the EU, Belgium and Luxembourg, Ms. Amna Baloch apprised the participants about the unabated atrocities being committed by the Indian security forces, especially after illegally revoking the special status of the IIOJ&K on 5th August 2019.

She underscored that over 900,000 Indian occupation forces turned IIOJK into the world’s largest open prison and the most militarized zone in the world, which necessitates intervention from the international community, especially UN and the European Union.
The Ambassador in her views said Pakistan will continue its political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination according to resolutions of the UN Security Council.
Representatives of the media, Scholars, and Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora attended the event.
