NEW YORK: Selena Gomez recently shared a strange yet poignant reason for no longer sleeping in her bedroom. The 32-year-old actress participated in a fitness summit last week to honor World Mental Health Day.

During a panel discussion, she reflected on her 2022 documentary, My Mind & Me, mentioning that her bedroom is tied to “a really dark time” related to her bipolar disorder. “I spent so much time in my bedroom that I actually don’t sleep there anymore,” she explained, adding, “I associate it with such a really dark time.”

The Only Murders In The Building star discussed how debilitating anxiety can be, stating, “For years, I didn’t want to leave my bed, and part of that was I wasn’t doing the work.” She emphasized the importance of self-belief in doing the necessary work for personal growth: “You have to believe in yourself to do the work that will truly enlighten you a little bit.”
