ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi, addressing the annual Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) Conference, underscored the pivotal role of justice, forgiveness, and equitable wealth distribution in fostering the progress of a nation.
He emphasized that the world looks to Muslims for guidance in establishing a morality-based global system due to their adherence to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who serves as a role model for building successful states.
President Alvi highlighted that unity, justice, forgiveness, and compassion for the less fortunate are essential traits for any thriving society. He emphasized that moral principles are indispensable for a successful economy, echoing the Holy Prophet’s guidance on spending wealth for the welfare of those in need. The president urged business leaders to uphold moral values in their commercial dealings, emphasizing that the concentration of wealth is detrimental to society.

Justice, Gender Equality Key Themes at Seeratun Nabi Conference
President Alvi also called attention to gender equality and urged Pakistani society to grant women their rightful inheritance, as Islam strictly condemns any dishonesty in this regard. He encouraged women to actively contribute to the nation’s development and called on men to ensure a harassment-free work environment.
Furthermore, President Alvi stressed the importance of education and expressed concern over the high number of out-of-school children in Pakistan, which exceeds 20 million. He called for increased efforts to promote education across the country.
Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, added that addressing economic challenges requires discouraging wealth concentration and moving away from interest-based financial systems. He called on religious scholars to unite people and instill hope in them.
Other scholars at the conference emphasized the significance of ending an interest-based economy, promoting honesty in business, providing skill training, and implementing the principles of zakat and sadqaat to uplift the less privileged.
The Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) Conference, held on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), featured recitations from the Quran and Naat, followed by addresses from renowned religious scholars. The theme of the event centered on “Strategy for Economic Stability of the Country in Light of the Teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).”
