AIOU Organizes Seminar on ‘Character Building in Light of Seerat-e-Taiba’

ISLAMABAD: Seerat-ul-Nabi Chair, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has organized a seminar on “Character building in light of Seerat-e-Taiba.”

Dr. Mahmood ul Hasan Butt said that the Charter of Madina is the first written constitution in the world used by other western countries, including the United States. Unfortunately, we have left it behind.

He said that in today’s era, the Muslim Ummah could get great guidance from this important document. He said that the Charter of Madina and the five basic pillars of Islam are the best prescriptions for character building. He said that the Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) had told us character-building principles. Universities and madrassas should move forward to inform and teach the new generation about those principles. 

Head, Seerat-ul-Nabi chair, Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman, while explaining the aims and objectives of the seminar, said that the topic of today’s seminar is very important. He said that Hazrat Muhammad SAWW laid special focus on character building.

Call to follow seerat-e-Taiba

Prof. Fateh Muhammad Malik said that today the whole Islamic world needs to follow the life of the Holy Prophet. Hazrat Muhammad SAWW used to help the poor and the needy. He added that we could establish an ideal and pure society by meeting the needs of the poor.

Muhammad Rafiq Tahir said that the Center of Excellence in the University was the dream of the former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, which started during his tenure. He said that these kinds of seminars would continue to contribute to the capacity building of society.
