ISLAMABAD: False reports circulating on social media claiming that security forces or intelligence agencies’ offices or camps were targeted in an incident in the Gwadar area of Balochistan are incorrect, security officials said, dismissing the claims as baseless speculation.

Security officials said a flurry of baseless speculation and rumours was circulating on social media about the incident in Gwadar.

However, the actual fact is that the camp targeted by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists was a facility previously vacated by a construction company, security officials said. No casualties were reported in the incident, security officials said.

The BLA terrorists set fire to a few trucks parked on the road. “This act once again demonstrates that these terrorists are enemies of ordinary citizens, their livelihoods, and their property,” security officials said.

Reports suggesting that any office or camp belonging to security forces or intelligence agencies was attacked are incorrect, security officials said, describing claims circulating on social media to this effect as “entirely baseless”.

Security officials urged citizens to refrain from treating unverified reports or propaganda from the BLA terrorist organisation as facts and to avoid spreading such information further.
