Security Forces Kill 12 Terrorists in Tirah Valley: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: At least 12 terrorists were killed in intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted by security forces in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to a statement by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces are conducting extensive intelligence-based operations in the Tirah Valley following reports of the presence of Khawarij militants.

“On August 28 and August 29, security forces effectively engaged Khawarij locations. After intense exchange of fire, 12 terrorists of Fitna-Al-Khawarij were killed,” the ISPR stated.

“These operations have dealt a major blow to Fitna-Al-Khawarij and its affiliates. So far, thirty-seven terrorists have been killed and fourteen others have suffered serious injuries,” the ISPR added.

The statement further said the intelligence-based operations will continue till peace in the area is restored and the Khawarij are eliminated. It said the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
