ISLAMABAD: Security beefed up outside Supreme Court (SC) as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former prime minister Imran Khan is set to appear for summons in Al-Qadir Trust case on Thursday.
Only journalists and lawyers allowed in court room 1. As security measures are beefed up, unnecessary people are not permitted to enter the court room no 1, where Imran Khan’s hearing is taking place. Imran Khan has yet to be brought to the court.
Security Beefed Up Imran Khan Set to Appear in court room 1
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to produce Imran Khan in the court. Bomb disposal squad and additional police and Rangers officers have been called outside the SC building to bolster the security arrangements. Roads leading to the apex court have also been cordoned off.
Imran Khan was arrested on Tuesday from the premises of Islamabad High Court. After his arrest, PTI approached the apex court to get its leader released.
