TANK: To safeguard the security of people’s lives and property and to avert any unfavorable incidents, the district administration in Tank on Tuesday decided to enforce Section 144 for the first ten days of the holy month of Muharram.
According to a notice issued by the district administration, arm displays, selling petroleum products in open bottles, and pillion riding will all be prohibited.
In addition to prohibiting the playing and printing audio-video cassettes promoting hatred and sectarianism during the specified period, the district administration also decided to ban the use of sound systems, loudspeakers, and wall chalking in streets and public spaces.
Other restrictions during Muharram processions
Additionally, it would be unlawful to shelter strangers in hotels or homes along the routes of the Muharram processions.
Moreover, it would be also illegal to go on a home’s roof, attic, or door during processions.
The notification also stated that individuals who violate Section 144 would face serious legal consequences.
