ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani delegation led by the Finance Secretary has arrived in the US to take part in the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund’s spring meetings.
Secretary Finance Hamed Yaqoob would represent Finance Minister Ishaq Dar as he (Ishaq Dar) cancelled his visit to Washington on prime minister Shehbaz Sharif’s orders, citing political situation in the country.

Similarly, Pakistan’s ministry of finance on Monday clarified that Secretary Finance Hamed Yaqoob has arrived in the United States (US) to attend spring meetings of the WB and (IMF) to represent the country’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Finance strongly rejected news circulating on different section of media that Hamed Yaqoob has gone to the US on leave.
The ministry further clarified that Hamed Yaqoob has reached to the US in order to attend spring meetings of the WB and IMF to represent Ishaq Dar.
