GAZA CITY: A second convoy of relief trucks has entered the Gaza Strip from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, Egyptian media reported. The Cairo News Channel confirmed that the Rafah land crossing was opened for the second consecutive day to facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian and relief aid to the people of Gaza.

This aid delivery comes amidst the escalating conflict in the region. On Saturday, the first aid convoy consisting of 20 trucks entered the Gaza Strip from the Rafah border crossing. That was the first humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza since the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas on October 7.

Israel’s Brutal Airstrikes on Gaza

The conflict in Gaza erupted following Hamas’ initiation of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a surprise attack involving rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel by land, sea, and air. Hamas stated that the incursion was a response to the Israeli forces’ storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the escalating violence by Israeli settlers against innocent Palestinian civilians. In response, the Israeli military launched brutal airstrikes, targeting residential and commercial buildings in the Gaza Strip.
