SCO Summit Viewed as Diplomatic Triumph for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference held on Tuesday has been hailed as a resounding success, garnering widespread acclaim from journalists and the public for its substantial contributions to economic growth and fostering a spirit of brotherhood among neighboring countries.

Journalists from various media outlets have praised the conference as a diplomatic triumph, marking a significant milestone in regional cooperation.

Asad Ullah Khan, a renowned foreign affairs expert, stated on PTV News that the SCO conference has set a positive tone for regional cooperation, economic development, and peaceful progress, reinforcing the organization’s role as a key player in global affairs. He highlighted that the conference signifies a new era of collaboration among SCO member states, with a focus on promoting economic growth, regional security, and stability. Khan noted that the organization’s expanding membership and increasing international influence make it a more important player on the global stage.

Citizens also expressed their views on the impact of the conference. One resident of Islamabad mentioned that “Pakistan’s peaceful narrative is gaining traction on social media, creating engaging content that resonates with younger audiences and fosters a positive national identity.” Another young individual remarked that social media platforms are effectively showcasing Pakistan’s peaceful image, crafting content that appeals to impressionable segments and enhances its global image.

Waqas Bakir, a journalist from Karachi, added, “The SCO’s emphasis on economic cooperation and regional security is a welcome change, providing a platform for member states to tackle pressing issues.” Abdul Razaq, another Karachi-based journalist, expressed admiration for the SCO’s efforts to promote people-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperation among member states.

Dr. Abid Qaiyum Suleri noted that “The SCO’s focus on economic cooperation aligns perfectly with Pakistan’s vision for regional connectivity and prosperity.” Meanwhile, Dr. Muhammad Khan, Director of the Area Study Centre at Peshawar University, remarked that “The SCO’s expansion into South Asia strengthens Pakistan’s ties with its regional partners.”

A student shared on Facebook that “The SCO’s investment initiatives could attract foreign investment to Pakistan,” reflecting the optimism surrounding the conference’s outcomes.
