ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, emphasized on Thursday that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit holds significant strategic value for Pakistan, presenting a vital opportunity to explore new economic and diplomatic avenues.
In an interview with a private news channel, he noted that the SCO serves as an essential platform for multilateral engagements, allowing member states to collaborate on a wide range of issues.
Bilawal asserted that successfully hosting the SCO summit will greatly enhance regional cooperation and bolster Pakistan’s standing on the global stage.
When asked about the potential for bilateral talks with India, he clarified that SCO regulations prohibit addressing bilateral issues within this forum. However, he expressed optimism that the successful hosting of the summit could pave the way for discussions with neighboring countries through other platforms.
