BISHKEK: Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has emphasized the significance of the “Shanghai Spirit,” which fosters mutual trust, equality, respect, and good neighbourly relations, shaping the core principles of the organization.
He expressed confidence in the SCO’s role in making coordinated and impactful decisions within its sphere of responsibility.
One of the primary objectives of the SCO’s cooperation is to ensure security in the region. This aligns with the resolution to “Enhance Mechanisms to Counter Challenges and Threats to the Security of SCO Member States,” as declared by the Council of Heads of State. As such, active efforts are underway to coordinate national initiatives for enhancing regional security.
Japarov further expressed hope for close collaboration with SCO partners to establish a Centre to Counter International Organized Crime in Bishkek, a significant step in bolstering security measures within the region.
In light of these developments, the Cabinet Chairman emphasized the importance of enhancing the SCO’s activities, focusing on amending statutory documents and implementing institutional reforms. This comprehensive approach is aimed at enabling the organization to effectively address evolving challenges and contribute to the region’s peace and stability.
