RIYADH: Schools have been announced to be closed in some cities of Saudi Arabia due to rain and classes will be online on Monday.
As per Saudi Arabian media, the Department of Education in Saudi Arabia has said that on Monday, December 12, schools in Jeddah, Makkah, Taif, Rabigh, Khulais, and other areas will be closed, and teaching will be online.
A spokesman for the Jeddah Education Department said that the decision to close the school was made in view of reports from the National Meteorological Center, which indicated the possibility of rain by 10 a.m. on Monday. He said that academies would remain closed on Monday for the safety of students, teachers, and administrators, and teaching would be online۔
Bad weather causes the closure of schools
The Department of Education in Taif and Makkah Mukarramah also says that due to the bad weather, schools will be closed in Makkah, Al-Jumum, Bahrah, and Al-Kamal on Monday. Still, online teaching will continue.
King Abdulaziz University’s campuses in Jeddah and Rabigh will remain closed, and classes will be held online.
