LAHORE: Punjab’s School Education Department (SED) has canceled the results of hundreds of Headmasters in promotion exams after they were caught cheating red-handed.
As per details, School Education Department’s Chief Adviser Curriculum Wing has canceled 650 headmasters’ results due to using unfair means to clear their promotion exams. After a comprehensive investigation, officials from Chief Adviser Curriculum Wing found the Provincial Institute for Teacher Education (PITE) found guilty of negligence in ensuring fairness in the promotion exams.
According to the investigation, the incident was the fault of two Deputy Directors, a director, and three additional officers. These officials are required to appear before Secretary of SED Ghulam Akbar Leghari on January 11 as per Chief Adviser Curriculum Wing.
Plan to fill positions in government schools
In a related event, the Punjab government planned to hire approximately 25,000 teachers to fill open positions in government schools throughout the country last month. During the provincial cabinet meeting, the Punjab Chief Minister made the decision. Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel Prize winner, had made a particular request, and the decision was made in response.
