ISLAMABAD: A four-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC), hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) petition against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to delay polls to the Punjab Assembly, dissolved again on Friday after Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail recused himself from the hearing.
The judge observed that he believed he was a “misfit” in the four-member bench.

The orginal five-member larger bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial and comprising of Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Mandokhail, was reduced to a four-member bench after Justice Khan recused himself on Thursday.
Earlier today, a supplementary cause list issued by the SC registrar stated that a new four-judge bench, including the CJP, Justice Ahsan, Justice Akhtar and Justice Mandokhail, will now hear the case.
