RIYADH: The Saudi youth cycling team clinched the gold medal on Sunday at the 2023 Asian Track Cycling Championships organized in the Thai city of Suphan Buri from August 27 to August 30, with the participation of fourteen Asian teams.
The achievement realized by the Saudi youth team, consisting of ” Abdullah Al-Issa, Abdul-Rahman Azibi, Jihad Al-Hassan, Salman Al-Salem, and Fares Al-Mudhahi,” was in the team pursuit race.
The Hong Kong team won the silver medal, while the Thailand team secured the bronze.
In another feat, the Saudi women’s team claimed the bronze medal in the team sprint race, with cyclists ” Mounira Al Darwish, Dania Sambawa, and Mourouj Felemban”.
Moreover, the Saudi cyclist Dania Sambawa contributed to this success by securing a bronze medal in the scratch race.
Saudi Women’s Team Claim Medals
On Saturday, the Saudi women’s team claimed a total of 4 medals in the opening of the Asian Cup: two silver and two bronze.
Dania Sambawa clinched the first two silver medals in the elimination and team pursuit races, while the first bronze was claimed by Mourouj Felemban in the elimination race.
Furthermore, Munira Al-Dariush clinched the second bronze in the team pursuit race.
