MADINAH: Women and girls from the Madinah region have made their presence felt at the 2024 Madinah Dates Season exhibition, which was held next to Quba Mosque, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
The women conducted arts and cooking workshops, participated in marketing, and displayed various types of dates and date by-products.
Malak Al-Juhani, a date vendor, who was taking part in the exhibition for the second time, said that her experience and improved marketing skills have contributed to increasing sales, and helped her cater to visitors.
Chef Enayat Anbar Khan, who has over 17 years of experience in the field, said that her workshops on date processing and traditional crafts enhanced knowledge and skills while helping women exchange experiences.
She noted that the tasting and cooking section offers consultation on the nutritional value of dates, as well as different recipes.

A group of women skilled in embroidery, sewing, engraving, and wood carving also participated to showcase key professional skills in these fields and to train visitors to the exhibition, offering gifts as incentives.
Meanwhile, the sections featuring families working in the cottage industry display over 30 different varieties of traditional dishes, along with various date-based juices and other products.
